Healing Home for The Community

It is known that during the invasion, The Taíno people of The Caribbean were displaced with over 100 000 people counting, massacred and enslaved. Gaurdians and Humans forcibly taken over to Spanish and Native American Lands by Colonizers of which stated no Taíno nor Cigueyanos remained on the island. What they failed to comprehend that their hunt did not equate to success. Our people were movers, from The Amazon and Meso Americas before they arrived and after. Our Ancestors sailed in canoes, land was closer to each other, intermarried and transformed with the power of their consciousness. We are of stone, Trees, Water, Sun, Moon and Stars - a transcendance of the modern human understanding of existence.
Eurpoean Civilization was established erasing our cultural heritage. Then came enslaved Ancestors. With the continual indoctrination of Religion upon our people invites safety into the hands of a supreme God over our Mother Earth. Today many souls exist dispersed across the globe without recognition of our Mestizaje / Ancestral Wisdom. The Government still fails to recognize that our identity is alive and thriving as seen in the Yukayekes and neighboring Islands. Challenges of community displacement without funding, resources has driven us to initiate a home where one may return to in Samaná (Name for the Province which translates to a place of rest.
Our Bohío faces a river and in El Valle - a magical portal that leads one in walking distance to the ocean. A River - Rio San Juan enchants the soul of a sacred remembrance where till this day the afro indigenous people still value their ancestry and many Dominicans comes to find solitude and for some mysterious reason, sense of fulfillment.
Our vision of healing is one with the people who believe in the work for generations to come, whilst still embracing our identity. We believe support must be available for those who need it, starting with our people first. Opening the doors to visitors who will leave healed and in alignment with the value to offer the world. Your contributions go towards land stewardship, cultural preservation and healing. A Home of acknowledgement, the community to preserve our traditions and cultural identity, A place for us to thrive in sharing our story.
